The PCC of St. Mary’s Church, Carew Cheriton, is required to check the safety of the churchyard and to take immediate remedial action where necessary to ensure there is no danger to the public from unstable or broken memorial stones.

Responsibility for the maintenance of individual plots and memorial stones rests with family members of the deceased, but a recent safety audit found several memorial stones in need of urgent repair.

People requiring further information, please contact a member of the Church Council or the Vicar on (01646) 651970 within 14 days. After that time, the PCC will take appropriate action to ensure that unstable memorial stones are safe for visitors to the churchyard.
