Current Mayor of Narberth, Clr. Mrs. Ruth Platt, has saved the day at Narberth Town Council.

For the second year running, she has stepped into the breach of a possible Mayoral dilemma.

She put her name forward to serve as First Citizen for 2017/18 when the matter was raised at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council.

Current Deputy Mayor, Clr. Jeremy Griffiths, who should have taken on the job, had already declined due to his business, family and personal commitments.

Clr. Mrs. Platt was nominated by Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers, seconded by Clr. Mrs Sue Rees, with all in favour.

This will be Clr. Mrs. Platt’s fourth year as Mayor.

Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers threw her hat into the ring for Deputy Mayor, with Clr. Mrs. Platt proposing her, Clr. Mrs. Denise Rigby seconding it and all agreeing.
