The church of St. Nicholas and St. Teilo, Penally, was the location for the recent marriage of Oliver Rhys Day and Kiri Ann Williams.
The groom is the eldest son of Gaye and Peter Day, of Penally, while the bride is the daughter of Candy and Geraint Williams, of Llanboidy.
At present, the bride and groom both live and work in the city of Bristol, but plan to return to their roots in Pembrokeshire in the foreseeable future.
The ceremony in church was beautifully conducted by the Rev. Alex Grace, with Mrs. Margaret Blackledge admirably undertaking duties at the organ for the wedding hymns - Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer and Amazing Grace.
Scripture readings were given by Mr. Tom Williams, Kiri’s paternal grandfather.
Oliver was supported by long-term friends Luc Jenkins and Timothy Whitlock as best men. Bridesmaids to Kiri were Emma James, Jodie Yarnald and Marie Underhill, all of whom were wonderful attendants.
The roles of ushers were carried out by James Day, brother of the groom, Gillan Williams, brother of the bride, and David Redshaw, close friend of the couple. Witnesses were James Day and Gayle Wildson.
All floral art for the church, the reception venue and the bouquets was skilfully created by Mrs. Sarah Parsons, with delightful additions in the church porch by Mrs. Rita Salisbury and Mrs. Anne Buet.
A magnificent marquee reception was held at Castlemead Hotel, Manorbier, provided by gifted chefs Mrs. Lorna and Ms Alice Greasley and their staff. The three-tier wedding cake had been made and decorated by the groom.
After the speeches and the meal, friends and families all enjoyed the fun of a traditional ceili, complete with band and caller!
The bride and groom are spending their honeymoon in the Provence region of south eastern France, near Avignon.
