As previously reported, a Milford man who completed an SAS-style challenge for Guide Dogs Cymru has smashed his fundraising target.
Mark Phillips, a senior support worker for Hafal, initially hoped to raise £500 for the charity by scaling Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons wearing a backpack filled with life-saving essentials. He was overwhelmed when local people dug deep, boosting the final total to £645.
Mark decided to raise money for Guide Dogs after meeting branch secretary Eva Rich and her guide dog Oyster at Saundersfoot Harbour last summer. The pair accepted his cheque last week on behalf of Pembrokeshire Guide Dogs, and Mark has pledged to undertake more challenges for the charity later in the year.
