Pembrokeshire’s very own ‘Captain Phillips’ will be back on the fundraising trail later this month, when he takes on his 465th marathon.
David Phillips, an accountant by trade, and member of the Pembrokeshire Harriers and the Massey Ferguson Runners in Coventry, divides his time with his family living in Penally and Warwickshire.
He’ll be running the London Marathon again as part of ‘Team Phillips’ on April 24, where he and his fellow fundraisers hope to raise £10,000 for the Brain and Spine Foundation Charity
“This will be my 465th marathon and so far with the help of ‘Team P’ I’ve raised £86,000 for the charity. Let’s hope we can reach our goal,” said David.
“As usual we have the Daily Telegraph’s backing for the B&S team and this year our non-running captain is ex England rugby hooker Brian Moore.
“As an ex hooker myself we have a lot in common. Once a hooker always a hooker!” he joked.

“Only recently the B&S charity made me an Ambassador and that’s mainly due to the generosity of my sponsors over the last 15 years, so many thanks there,” added David.
