Frank played in a punk band called The Works Band at the venue in the 1980s and by all accounts, had a wicked gig, but it turns out that all that time ago, one of the band members ‘may’ have half-inched the plaque from the Hall!
The plaque ended up in a garage for over 30 years hidden and forgotten about but thankfully, Frank found it and has kindly returned it to the Queen’s Hall.
“How lovely to have it back, especially in such a poignant week for the Queen herself,” said a spokesperson for the Queen’s Hall.
“We are digging in to the history as none of the current trustees remember it (unfortunately we lost Arthur some weeks back now) - it looks very old so just maybe it was placed on the wall when we opened in 1958?
“Frank did namedrop Declan (a fantastic previous manager of ours) as someone who he remembered, and the one and only BB Skone thinks he remembers it placed on the wall in the foyer!”
Do you recognise the plaque? If so the Queen’s Hall would love to hear from you, and are looking to get it restored and back on the wall of the venue soon.
