A former Llawhaden resident has celebrated her 100th birthday.

Mrs. Olwen Morris celebrated her big day with a party at Williamston Nursing Home in Houghton where she is a resident.

Mrs. Morris is the widow of Mr. Bill Morris, a motor mechanic who died in 1959.

She has four children: Mrs. Yvonne Lewis, of Haverfordwest; Mr. Peter Morris, of St. Davids, Mrs. Jeanette Barker, of Newport in Gwent and Mr. Nigel Morris who lives in Canada.

Mrs. Morris also has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
