She met club president Derek MacGarvie, who spoke so passionately about Elly’s achievements for the Ward 10 Cancer Ward at Withybush Hospital.
Elly also met Nick Stapleton (secretary), Rob Mayhew (vice-president), Peter Wilton (treasurer), John Griffiths, Julie Buckland, Phil Belfield and all the Lions present on the night.
Mr. MacGarvie presented Elly with a cheque for an amazing £1,000 to help her continue her good work for Cancer Patient Environment and Experience on Ward 10.
Every single penny that the Lions raise through their fundraising events goes directly to good causes.
Elly’s dad Lyn said: “We are very grateful for the help and support of such an inspirational local organisation. The Lions give assistance to so many good causes and we are humbled to have been given their support.”
“It was amazing to meet up with the members of this wonderful organisation who work selflessly and voluntarily to raise funds to support many good causes in the local community,” he added.
The president said that the Lions are always looking for people who are willing to give up their time and work hard voluntarily to help the community.
Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal is raising funds for Patient Experience and Environment on the Ward 10 (Cancer Ward) at Withybush Hospital.
