Two licensing applications for Tenby were given the go-ahead by members of the town council this week.

One application for a unit at Tenby’s indoor market, with the premises to be used for licensable activity during market hours, was granted.

“This I understand will be a small delicatessen, selling craft products and produce,” said Clr. Dr. Peter Easy.

The second application approved was for the Indie Burger premises in Upper Frog Street, to allow the premises to stay open until 11 pm.

“It’s quite unique what they do at this premises, but they’re having to shut at 10 pm because of the current licence, so if they want to stay open later, say during the summer, then they need this variation,” explained Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown.

The town clerk, Andrew Davies, said that when the town council met with the licensing department and the police, they were under the presumption that the authority would approve applications unless they met with strong objections from neighbouring properties.

“We’ve had no objections to these applications,” he told councillors, whose recommendations will now be passed on to Pembrokeshire County Council.
