Sir, Congratulations to the members of St. Johns Church not only on their 150th anniversary, but for securing the loan of one of the most delightful exhibitions I have seen for a long time.

The Knitted Bible exhibition currently at the church for the next three weeks is not what one would expect. It is a series of 34 tableaux using knitted figures to depict most of the Bible stories many of us grew up with. Adults will appreciate it for the skill and ingenuity of the craft workers who produced the figures and accompanying scenery, and children will just love the novelty of seeing Bible stories presented in this appealing way.

According to the information leaflet, this project began in a small way in St. George’s Church, Hartlepool, and it is well worth seeing.
