A kind-hearted local has offered to pay for play park equipment after reading in the Observer how vandals destroyed a swing at one of Tenby’s popular facilities.
The town clerk, Andrew Davies, recently reported to members of the town council that an incident had occurred at the Jubilee play park overlooking the South Beach, where one of the swings was set on fire and destroyed.
At Tuesday night’s meeting, Mr. Davies told councillors that one local resident contacted the council after reading the coverage in the paper and offered to pay for a new swing themselves.
“They were so angered and incensed by this, that they have kindly offered a personal donation to replace the swing,” he said.
“That’s wonderful, and nice to know that there are some nice people out there,” said the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane.
