Among matters considered and discussed at the February meeting of Kilgetty, Begelly Community Council, held at the Community Centre and chaired by Clr. Andcrson, were the following:
The Charity Commission want the council to set their case out in writing to put allotments on the Miners Field. A public meeting was held in January and there was no opposition to the proposal. The clerk was instructed to write a letter setting out the case for changing the use of the Miners Field.
The council was pleased to see that the corner next to the new bus stop, outside the hall, had been repaired and looked a lot neater.
A sign has been made showing the Miners Walk and other local walks. This sign will be erected at the entrance to the new play area.
PLANED has secured funding for picnic benches. These will be located near the new play area.
Dog owners are reminded to clean up after their dogs and dispose of the waste in rubbish bins provided.
The council instructed the clerk to order a bench to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee.
The Library at the back of the Community Hall is open every Friday 2-3.30 pm. A book exchange is run from the Library. Books are 10 p each and can be borrowed for as long as you want.
Planning application: Demolition of existing and rebuild double span portal frame building, Folly Farm, Begelly (no objections).
Planning decisions received: Erection of a conservatory, Green Park, 6 Mayfield Acres, Kilgetty (granted with conditions); Alterations and extension. Alma Villa, Station Road, Kilgetty (granted with conditions); Erection of a garage,. Holly Bush, Reynalton (granted with conditions); Extension to dwelling, 16 Kilvelgy Park, Kilgetty (granted with conditions); two gypsy caravans, toilet/shower block, engineering works, drainage, landscaping and parking (amended plans), land south of Kilgetty Cottages, Kilgetty (refused).
The next meeting of the community council will take place on Thursday, March 8, at 7.30 pm in the Green Room at the Community Hall. The minutes of the January meeting have been verified and are available for inspection in the Library or from the clerk. March planning applications will be available for inspection 15 minutes before the meeting.
