A meeting of Kilgetty Begelly Community Council was held recently at the community centre. Clr. Anderson chaired the meeting.
The following items were discussed at the meeting:-
County Clr. Pugh informed Council that there had been a flood of sewage in Kingsmoor Close. Pembrokeshire County Council and Welsh Water were aware of the situation, had dealt with it and it was hoped a site meeting would take place soon to find a resolution to the issue.
There was a problem with dog fouling in various areas of the village. Dog owners were reminded to clean up after their dogs and dispose of the waste in rubbish bins provided.
The Trim Trail and Green Gym were completed.
The new play area was almost finished.
Residents were asked to let the community council what, if any, event/celebration they would like to have to mark the Queens Jubilee next year.
The Scouts car park at the Miners Field had been completed.
The clerk was instructed to request a bin on Begelly Hill, report the missing Parsonage Lane and Ryelands Lane signs and report the fourth street light in Station Road as faulty. The clerk would also request the bus shelter and 'phone box outside the Co-op to be cleaned.
The community council considered requests for donations to local charities. Donations were made to the Samaritans, the H. Davies Trust and Begelly Church. Any charities wishing to be considered for donations next year could contact the community council.
The association may fund new benches for the Trim Trail as the existing benches were falling apart.
County Clr. Pugh reported that PCC would consider paying for the insurance on the new play area in January. In the meantime, the community council would fund it.
ROSPA would do a safety inspection on the play area before it opened.
County Clr. Pugh will give the clerk the details of the play equipment and the Green Gym equipment. The community council would then take out the necessary insurance on the equipment.
The possibility of additional play equipment was discussed as PCC funding had opened again.
Planning : gypsy caravans -amended plans, land South of Kilgetty Cottages, Kilgetty (objection, 1. Outside village boundary; 2. Sewage system already overloaded; 3. Concerned over additional traffic over Co-op car park; 4. Community already has gypsy site; 5. Possible adverse effect of water run-off onto already marshy land; 6. No vehicular access to site.
Application for new premises licence. Seven Spice, Corporate House, Carmarthen Road, Kilgetty (no objection).
Planning decisions received: extension to garage. Folly Farm, Begelly. (granted with conditions).
The next meeting of the Community Council will take place on Thursday, October 13, at 7.30 pm, in the bungalow behind the Community Hall.
The minutes of the August meeting have been verified and are available for inspection in the library or from the clerk.
October planning applications will be available for inspection 15 minutes before the monthly meeting.
