A new provision in Tenby should help people keep warm this winter, thanks to the combined efforts of two of the town’s organisations.

Tenby Soroptimists and Tenby Library have joined together this week, to provide warm coats and jackets for local people in need.

They are asking anyone who has a spare coat or jacket in good, clean condition, to ‘gift’ it to the clothes stand at the library.

“We all need a warm coat during the winter months, but not everyone is able to buy one, so please help us to help those who need one,” said a spokesperson for the Soroptimists.

“Anyone can add a warm coat or jacket to the stand, and anyone can swop or take one home to wear this winter. There is no cost involved.

“Thank you Linda and staff at M&CO for loaning the large coat stand and hangers.

“And thank you to Sam and staff at the library for providing space and signs, ensuring that everyone is aware of this facility. Winter weather can be very cold, and can make us feel miserable if we aren’t warm, so please avail yourselves of some winter warmth.

“We hope the coat rail will run throughout the winter, so please bring your unused coats along and boost the choices available. Thankyou.”

A similar scheme is being run at Pembroke Dock Library, hopefully ensuring that no-one has to go without a warm coat.
