On Sunday, the third before Lent, the congregation, friends and families were present at Jeffreyston Church to welcome the Bishop of St. Davids, the Rt. Rev. Wyn Evans, when he officiated at the service of the Holy Eucharist.
Within this service, the sacraments of baptism and confirmation were administered. The Bishop baptised Henry Ratcliffe, baptised and confirmed Carys and Lucie Ratcliffe, Max Goldworthy and Gillian Phillips, and confirmed Lauren Watts, Rosemary Howells and Emma Ratcliffe.
Henry, Carys, Lucie, Rosemary, Max and Lauren are all pupils at St. Oswald's School, Jeffreyston.
We were also delighted to welcome four visitors from Nepal who are visiting the area with a view to establishing links with St. Oswald's School and other schools in the area with schools in Nepal. The visitors attended the collective worship held in St. Oswald's School on Wednesday.
Alice read the prayer for the Sunday School, asking for God's help to keep the promises we make to proclaim the Good News and follow the teachings of Jesus.
This Sunday, the second before Lent, services will be 10.30 am at Jeffreyston, 10.45 am at Lawrenny, 12.15 pm at Loveston. At these services, we will be celebrating the sacrament of marriage and all those who were married in any of the churches in the group will be very welcome to come and renew their marriage vows.
