Tomorrow (Thursday) over 100 Jaguars will cruise into Wales in support of Prostate Cancer.
The drive left The National Motor Museum in Beaulieu on Tuesday, flagged off by Murray Walker and will travel a staggering 3600 miles (18 days) around the coast raising awareness and money for Prostate cancer of which one man dies every 45 minutes in the UK from Prostate Cancer.
The drive was started last year by Philip Porter who after surviving prostate cancer wanted to do more to raise the awareness and so combined his passion of Jaguars and driving and came up with the Round Britain Coastal drive.
Many people take part for different reasons many effected by the disease and also they come from all over the country to take part.
On Thursday the cruise will leave Bridgwater at 9 am, head to Swansea for lunch and onto Tenby that evening, the make its way to Ceredigion the following day before making their final journey to Criccieth.
The Wales leg is part of a unique 18-day event to drive the entire coastal roads of Great Britain – 3,500 miles and raise awareness of this killer cancer.
The cars were flagged away from the start at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu by the legendary Murray Walker OBE.
Four drivers are doing all 18 stages, including author Philip Porter who had the original idea for this adventure after recovering from prostate cancer.
“Having done the entire drive in my Italian Job E-type in 2016, I can tell you 90 per cent of the driving is superb, with some utterly breath-taking days,” said Philip.
“This is a fabulous way to see the best of Britain and use your car for a very worthy cause. One man in the UK dies every 45 minutes from prostate cancer. It is crucial we raise awareness to save lives.”
