Residents in Saundersfoot have voiced their concerns about inconsiderate motorists parking along a busy road in the village.

Local Lisa Cole has said that the matter along The Ridgeway is an ‘accident waiting to happen’ and that she and others have written to the council expressing their concerns, but to no avail,

“This area of the road is an accident waiting to happen, with cars parked opposite Ridgeway Close and on each opposite corner blocking the views for a safe exit,” she told the Observer.

“Cars speed on this road and many motorists have had near misses in their vehicles,” she added.

County councillor for the Saundersfoot ward, Phil Baker, told the Observer that the matter was on the agenda for the local authority and the police.

“Parking and speeding on The Ridgeway has been a cause for concern for a number of years.

“I have organised a speed monitoring survey to be carried out in the very near future and will liaise with Pembrokeshire County Council officers to review the parking at junctions.

‘The matter has also been raised at the Partnerships and Communities Together (PACT) meetings and will be raised again at the next meeting on the first Monday in June,” he added.
