A successful fundraising day was held at Tavernspite School on last day of term, last Thursday, March 28.

It was organised by Rachel Thomas, who would like to say a big thank you to the parents, teachers and children who supported the wear your own clothes day and tuck shop, raising money for Birmingham Children's Hospital's cancer centre appeal.

Said Rachel: "Having had two members of close family be patients at the hospital, most recently my baby niece who had open heart surgery on March 11 at just two-days-old, I wanted to give something back and approached Mr. Phelps at Tavernspite School who was pleased to help."

Rachel would like to thank Princes Gate Water, Llanteg High Noon Stores, Tenby Sainsbury's, Whitland and Kilgetty Co-op, St. Clears Spar, Whitland £1 Shop and Marros Riding Centre for generously donating confectionery and drinks for the tuck shop which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

A grand total of £241.58 was collected as a result of the fundraising day.
