Hywel Dda University Health Board confirmed at a public board meeting back in the summer that the service, likely to be able to offer convenient access to a range of treatments for minor illnesses and injuries, would be a joint collaboration between the Health Board and Tenby GP Practice.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas, who is also secretary of the South East Pembrokeshire Community Health Network (SEPCHN), said that she had expected the service to be up and running by Christmas, based on the Health Board’s business case plans, but that it all seemed to have gone quiet.
“We were promised the service by around December time, but I’ve been emailing and enquiring and everything seems to have gone a bit quiet, so I will keep trying,” she told her colleagues.
The Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall, said that it would be useful to keep the matter as an agenda item for the town council, to indicate to the Health Board, that they need to move forward with the walk-in service plans.
