The family of Pembrokeshire youngster Billy Miller have thanked the public for the support shown to them this week, in difficult circumstances, stating that they have been ‘overwhelmed’ by how much love has been shown across the county’s communities.
Billy’s older brother Andrew has said that the family are ‘overwhelmed’ with how much support they have been shown.
“Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Billy will know what a kind, funny and loving boy he was. He definitely was the best of the best!” Andrew told the Observer.
“We as a family, would just like to say we are overwhelmed by the amount of support we have had during this difficult time, to everyone who shared the posts, helped search for him, or has simply just been there for us, we cannot thank you enough.
“Life definitely won’t be the same without his cheeky smile and one liners! Your friends and family will love and miss you always,” he continued.
A GoFundMe page at: https://gf.me/u/ybjdb3 has been set up by family friend Andrea Sterry to fund a memorial for Billy either in Tenby or Pendine.
“I feel that there should be somewhere his friends and family could go where they could sit and remember him - maybe a bench, a plaque or anything that could be a comfort at this sad time. His friends, including my son would love somewhere to go to remember how loved he was,” explained Andrea.
“It’s a lovely gesture this lady has done setting up the GoFundMe page for us, and a memorial for family and his friends to be able to visit, would be something to give us some sort of comfort in the awful circumstances,” said Andrew, who also wanted to share some of the photos of his much-loved brother with his family and friends.
Taking to social media, in an emotional post, Billy’s sister Rhea also thanked the rescue services who led the search.
She has since set up a fundraiser on her Facebook page to raise money for the RNLI.
“My heart is broken into a million pieces, thank you so much for all the support over the last few days, everyone. I love you brother. Rest in peace,” said Rhea.
“Please donate to the RNLI - they were the ones that brought Billy home! Love you all from the bottom of my heart.”
