Have you lost any sheep? If you have, then Mr. David Gibbs, of The Beeches, Templeton, may be able to help you find them.
Mr. Gibbs told the Observer this week: "When we returned home after a short stay in Scotland, early in March, we found that four sheep had been put on our field opposite our home, alongside the A4115 and bordering Templeton Aerodrome, at Peters Finger, which is between Templeton and Molleston.
"We assumed that they had been found on the road and were put in our field by an unknown third party.
"To date, we have been unable to trace the owner of the four lost sheep and have become increasingly concerned about their welfare, as we have no knowledge of animal husbandry.
"At first we thought that the sheep had escaped from the Drome, but the farmer who has the grazing rights on the Drome, has confirmed that they are not his sheep and was not able to identify to whom they might belong.
"A local farmer has the right to graze animals on the field, but they are not his sheep and he does not know where they came from.
"Apparently it might be possible to trace ownership through their ear tags, but as pensioners, we are unable to catch them - even if we knew how!
"Somebody, somewhere must own these sheep which must have come from land within a few miles of the Drome.
"The grass in the field has continued to grow as four sheep are incapable of cropping the grass, so they may be unable to feed themselves in a few weeks time," concluded Mr. Gibbs.
