Having just celebrated its 20th anniversary, Tavernspite Play Group is pleased to announce that a special open day will be held next month to celebrate the occasion.

Based at Tavernspite Village Hall, the play group, which was founded by Mrs. Mary Jones back in 1998, will be welcoming past teachers, pupils and anyone involved with the group to come along and enjoy refreshments at the open day, which will be held on Tuesday, November 14, between 2 and 5 pm. There will also be a display board showing photographs of the group collected from the past, while visitors will also have the chance to write a comment in the memory book.

Meanwhile, a week after the open day, a special auction and buffet night will take place at the Sporting Chance, Red Roses, from 7 pm onwards, where items such as sports memorabilia will be auctoned off. Tickets are £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.

Tavernspite Play Group, run by supervisor Mandy Harry, is CSIW and ESTYN inspected, a member of the WPPA and also Quality Assured.

The play group accepts all children from two-and-a-half years up to four-years-old.

The play group's qualified staff provide a fun, happy and educational environment, where parental involvement is encouraged and the children benefit from indoor and outdoor play. Children have the chance to meet friends they can stay with through school and it provides an introduction to a schedule.

You can benefit from excellent wrap-around care with Tavernspite School, which means your child can have fun in the play group, then be taken along by play group staff to the Early Years Unit at the school where they have lunch and then enjoy themselves until 2.15 pm.

Limited places are available now. To arrange a time to go along to the play group with your child to have a look and enjoy a free session, contact Mandy on 07845 980559.

Tavernspite Play Group is open from Monday to Thursday, from 9 am to 12 noon.
