Pembrokeshire County Council's planning department has fully approved a planning application for new footpaths from Bloomfield, around the boundaries of Narberth Rugby Club, leading into Bushes Lane.
"I am delighted with the decision and thank the many people of the town who supported this, in particular Bloomfield Community Centre and Narberth Rugby Club," said County Councillor Wynne Evans.
"I have met with a number of residents of Springfield Park over recent weeks to address their concerns and issues on the application and I am keen that the fencing to be erected around the pathway will meet all the criteria," he continued.
"There are still some outstanding issues that I hope will be resolved in the coming days, then work can start I hope within the next two weeks."
He added: "After considerable flooding issues again last Friday night along Bushes Lane, we will now undertake drainage works that hopefully will help towards any future flooding concerns. Again thanks to so many for all their valued assistance."
Town Moor footpath
As part of the ongoing works programme within the town, the Town Moor footpath was closed to public use last Monday.
All residents living nearby, had hand-delivered advance notice of this, and the town council was also informed.
"We have made sure that at least one of the footpaths remains open to the public at all times, with work likely to be in progress for five or six weeks," said County Clr. Wynne Evans.
