The chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, Clr. Wynne Evans, said he has received fantastic feedback from competitors, their families and many others, following Ironman Wales 2015.

Clr. Evans, who together with the Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Paul Rapi, welcomed the athletes at the finish line in Tenby and presented them with their medals, said: “It was a truly incredible event, and like many others, I felt emotional and inspired to see so many people achieving their dream. It was a real privilege to be part of it.

“I would like to express again my heartfelt thanks to all the organisers, staff, volunteers and everyone who helped make the day an outstanding success.”

Comments he received included:

‘Huge thanks for the support your town gave me on my race on Sunday, for me it was a totally emotional day. I’m not a professional.... just an age group athlete, but the crowds/volunteers and yourself made me feel awesome. Thank you very much.’

‘I just thought I should send you a short note expressing our thanks and admiration for this event. The Ironman event organisers did a great job of course, but I should also like to comment on the excellence of the council organisation... Likewise, the Mayor and local government of the town of Tenby.’

‘Thanks for being part of putting on Ironman Wales - great event and fantastic support from the crowds.’
