Sir,

Could I please offer my public thanks to Saundersfoot Medical Centre, our local ambulance service and Withybush Hospital, when I recently had the misfortune to require their services.

On Wednesday, July 22, my husband telephoned the doctor as I was in agony with violent abdominal pains.

Dr. Davies was at my side within 10 minutes, examined me and prescribed an immediate visit to Withybush Hospital.

Once again, within minutes ambulance personnel Ceri and Justin arrived, made me comfortable, offering sedatives and any help required before driving me to Withybush.

On arrival at the hospital, I was given an X-ray and blood tests, being kept in Ward 4 overnight so that I was available for a scan the following day to assist with diagnosis.

The following morning, I was offered assistance with a shower and received a lovely cup of tea (breakfast looked delightful, but was off limits due to the scan!)

At all times, I was met with the most professional and caring service one could imagine.

We often hear complaints about our local health service, but are very slow to offer praise.

Dr. Ali, Mr. Selvan and Sue Alsopp were marvellous. All this talk about ‘health service in Britain is like living in a third world country’ seems uncalled for - our local National Health Service is wonderful!

Rose Jenkins,

Kilgetty
