Sir, I am writing this to thank the fantastic people of Tenby who helped my friend and I when we were involved in an RTA in Tenby on Saturday (Dec 9th) night where I sustained injuries to my left knee and leg and he had suspected injuries to his back.

Basically I ended up lying in the road, waiting for an ambulance; it was dark, pouring with rain and cold. People rushed to our aid, called for help and supported me and Tone while we waited for the ambulance.

A special thanks to the blonde lady who kept me talking and whipped the coat from her partner to cover me with - he got a soaking on my behalf.

She also thought I was 35 when actually I am 62, but to be fair, it was dark and I was lying on a slope so my wrinkles were smoothed out; also to the lady who gave me her partner’s duvet, stating he wouldn’t mind as he wasn’t home !

To all the people, too, who held umbrellas over us in an effort to keep off the torrential rain, to all our friends who were there keeping our spirits up, my guardian angel sister Debbie, who reassured me my mascara wasn’t running, and my partner Phil, who held my head and bravely bore an attack of cramp while crouched down!

Also thank you to the ambulance crew who I bossed about throughout the journey (I am a midwife, it comes naturally), who took such good care of me; now I understand how good entonox is.

And thank you to the Bay of Bengal restaurant where we were on our way to when the accident happened who were so understanding and generous when we cancelled a table for 12 at ten minutes’ notice.

Thank you, you are all amazing.
