Our Barafundle Bay Playroom offers children aged 0-1 years a high standard of care. Children have opportunities to enjoy music, creative arts, sensory play, stories and lots more!
Barafundle Bay has easy accessibility to the garden, with a door leading straight out to the outdoor area. There is a sink and miniature kitchen provided near the outdoor play entrance to maintain high standards of hygiene. One wall of this playroom shows scenes from Barafundle Bay, in an ‘Under the Sea’ theme. The flooring of this room is comprised of carpet and a non-slip surface in the wet or messy play area.
The woodland playroom specialises in the care of children aged one to two years and enables children to enjoy outside play, creative arts, sensory play, stories, role play and baking. Each morning the children sing, dance and play various musical instruments.
The ABC and Flying Start playroom specialises in the care of children aged two to three years, offering opportunities to explore and develop in a caring and professional environment. The playroom helps children aged two to three to get the best start in life whilst giving them the opportunity to learn, develop and play. Flying Start is 12.5 hours of childcare free per week for eligible parents/carers.
The wildlife playroom specialises in the care of children aged three years and over and offers children a very high standard of care and learning through the Foundation Phase Curriculum. We offer two holiday clubs, one for children aged 3-5 years and one for children aged 6+ years, although the ages may vary depending on individual children.
Holiday Club: We provide two holiday clubs for children aged 3-5 years and 6-12 years. For each holiday we offer a wide range of activities on a holiday club programme which we send out to all parents. All activities booked are chosen by the children who have attended the previous holiday club. Our activities include trips to Folly Farm, Tenby Park and Beach and Pembroke Castle.
The sensory room features a variety of relaxing and stimulating sights, sounds and textures. All the children within the nursery enjoy the sensory playroom.
Forest School - At Golden Manor we have a forest school where children can experience nature and the outdoor environment in a safe, secure and hands-on way.
Our ’forest’, which is a small woodland located within the grounds of Golden Manor Nursery, contains a large shelter, digging area, small open glade, mud kitchen, log circle, log cabin, willow tunnel, rope bridge and a maths area.
A mixture of hazel, rowan, willow, oak, birch, fig and apple trees gives a small canopy. There are old wood piles and a bug hotel to attract insects and small mammals. Rabbits and birds are evident and the children are encouraged to investigate and explore and to respect all living things.
Children learn best from first-hand experiences, exploring, playing and therefore learning using a range of activities (both designed by the leader (Ruth) and instigated by the children themselves) is the ethos of forest school.
Building a sense of independence, high self-esteem and teamwork are important parts of forest school, but health and safety considerations are always of paramount importance.
We offer Forest School sessions to all playrooms on a weekly basis.
