All pupils from Year 6 at Stepaside School looked absolutely amazing for their annual school prom recently at Begelly Arms. All parents had made a big effort to make this evening very special for the children and provided VIP treatment for them all. On arrival, they were greeted by a welcoming red carpet and a champagne flute of soft drink and popping candy, served by two very smartly dressed gentlemen. Individual and group photos were taken, followed by a sit-down meal, chocolate fountain, fruit punch, and beautifully made cake. The function room was decorated in red white and blue, to represent Independence Day by Upsy a Daisy of Narberth, many thanks to them and also we mustn't forget the parents, grandad parents etc.. who gave up so much of their time. In total, everyone raised £1,000. Rio Proctor and Curtis Fisher were congratulated for raising a sum of money from taking part in a triathlon which totalled £380. Other fundraising events included coffee mornings, car wash, and car boot sale. With all funds raised, we were very fortunate to be able to provide a few extra surprises for the children, including a disco by Steve Briers where the children did not disappoint proving that they all are very good movers on the dance floor as they danced the night away. Also provided was a photo booth which the children had an enormous amount of fun with having photos taken with friends with a large variety of different props, hats, wigs, glasses etc., which all added to the fun. The Prom King and Queen were chosen in a draw with Rio Proctor and Holly Taylor filling the respective roles. Many thanks also must go to the Begelly Arms, Steve Briers, Ann for being our photographer for the evening, Kate Walker and Beth Mason for the wonderful cake, Luke at Just Shoot Me for the photo booth, again Heidi at Upsy Daisy for table decorations, and of course the children for being so well behaved. A totally fantastic fun-filled evening and the children will never forget..
