On what must have been the windiest day of the year, many Friends of East Williamston Jubilee Park turned out to do more restoration work in the park. Several new people joined the group and an early rain squall did not put anyone off. They were soon cutting back the blackthorn which had invaded a grassy area and was threatening to 'suffocate' a fine beech tree.
This regular work in the park is proving very beneficial and giving anyone who comes along a bit of sociable exercise! The day was rounded off with some very welcome hot soup.
The next get-together will be on Saturday, December 7, and all are welcome to join. There is plenty to do for all ages and abilities and all the equipment is provided.
