At the end of the summer term, 8E at Dyffryn Taf, who are now 9E, worked together on a fantastic form fund-raiser. The whole class were involved in putting on a lunchtime event in the school hall to raise money for Waungron, a residential home for the elderly in Whitland. The pupils wanted to help Waungron buy some garden furniture that could be used by the residents over the summer.
8E took over the school hall and put on a cake sale and a variety of competitions, including 'Guess the Name of the Teddy' tombola, and guess the number of sweets in the jar. Fellow pupils and staff from Dyffryn Taf attended the event that proved to be very popular!
Through their fund-raiser, 8E managed to raise £272.43 for this worthwhile, local cause.
"As a form, we do a fund-raising event every year and we were really pleased to be able to help Waungron this year," said Shannon Hewins, from 8E.
"Our event went very well and it was good fun to work together to organise and put on a fund-raiser in school. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped us raise this amazing amount of money," said Stephanie Brown, also from 8E.
