THE Welsh Government has been slated for announcing plans on game-bird management just days before dissolution, a move described by local MS Samuel Kurtz as a “top-down attack on rural Wales”.

The party warns that increased regulation and uncertainty could threaten rural jobs, local businesses and land management across the countryside without proper scrutiny or engagement.

Samuel Kurtz, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, said: “It’s disappointing the Welsh Government is squeezing this out days before dissolution, without proper scrutiny or engagement.

“This is yet another top-down attack on rural Wales, risking jobs and livelihoods in our countryside.

“Labour has shown once again it is no friend to rural communities, while the Welsh Conservatives have always and will always back rural Wales.”
