A concert, organised by the Pembroke Farmers’ Club, raised the sum of just over £3,000 for the charity Prostate Cymru.

The concert was held at the new Henry Tudor School in Pembroke and featured guest artists

Trystan Griffiths and Jess Robinson. Also performing were Clive Edwards of Taf Valley Coaches, Whitland; Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir and the Stackpole Community Singers.

Trystan and Jess gave polished performances which were enjoyed by all. The Male Voice Choir, with their acoustic director Mrs Christine Lloyd gave a wonderful rendition of some old favourites, whilst The Stackpole Singers, lead by Mrs. Becky Evans gave a fine example of how this community group have found joy through singing. Compere for the evening was Mr. Brian Harries who is also President of the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru.

The idea for this concert followed on from Brian’s after dinner talk at the Farmers’ Club Annual dinner last year.

Mr. Clive Edward brought tears to the eye with his tender song ‘What colour is the Wind Daddy?’ Clive also had the audience in stitches with his wicked sense of humour.

Pembroke Farmers’ Club Chairman, Mr. Edward Morris and his co-organiser and Club member Mr. Gareth Hopkins stated that the Club is very grateful to all the local businesses for their support and sponsorship with this event.

It was with their generous support that the amazing sum could be raised for the Prostate Cymru Charity.

All proceeds for the event will be donated to the charity once all the pledges are gathered in.
