A new supermarket opening in Saundersfoot this month will celebrate its launch with a donation to their local village hall.
Mrs. Mandy Allsop, chair of Saundersfoot Community Council, will be the guest of honour when the new Tesco Express store opens today (Friday) on Brewery Terrace. Mrs. Allsop will be invited to cut a ribbon to declare the new store officially open at 10.30 am.
As part of the opening celebrations, store manager Richard Davies and his staff will present Mrs. Allsop with a cheque for £500. The store chose to donate to the Regency Hall as part of its commitment to supporting the local community.
The £500 donation is going to go towards the Regency Hall, the local village hall, which is looked after by Saundersfoot Community Council. The building was 50 years old last month and is going to be rebuilt so that the local community can continue to enjoy it for many years to come.
Tesco Express store manager Richard said: "We were delighted to be able to support the Regency Hall; it is a wonderful landmark for the Saundersfoot community. We are really pleased that Mrs Allsop is coming to launch the new store and join in the celebrations with us."
Richard added: "My staff and I are looking forward to welcoming our customers into the new store and we hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community."
The doors of the new Tesco Express on Brewery Terrace will open for the first time at 8 am today (Friday).
