Three new art exhibitions open to the public today at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.

The first features work done by the museum’s Ukrainian guests as part of the Welsh/Ukrainian Cultural Exchange project that has taken place at the museum over the past month. This project, funded by a Community Cohesion grant, saw several Ukrainian’s currently residing in Pembrokeshire visit the museum for conversation, Welsh cakes and the creation of art works. These art works now form the exhibition, along with some works done by museum staff and volunteers as part of the project.

The second exhibition is work by children from two events the museum recently held, both funded by the Welsh Government – The Summer of Fun with storyteller/illustrator Peter Stevenson and The Treasure of Bees with artist Tom Sloan. These projects were designed to encourage children to explore climate change and environmental issues in a fun and creative way and from these sessions we have art works, books and a brilliantly colourful painted beehive to display.

The third is ’58 to ’22 – a series of 17 artworks by artist Tom Sloan that celebrate Wales’ qualification for the 2022 World Cup, the first time they have qualified in sixty four years. The works details greats from the Welsh football teams over the years, ranging from John Charles through to Gareth Bale and Neco Williams, as well as some of the historic strips worn by the teams over the years. This project was funded by the Welsh Government.

These three exhibitions are open to the public until December 17.
