As part of the Great Winter Get Together weekend, Tenby Town Council will be holding a letter writing activity, ‘Give a Few Words’ in January.

Inspired by Jo Cox MP, the Great Get Together has been bringing communities together since 2017. Community events around the UK are acting as places where people can find meaningful connection in January and show that winter doesn’t have to be lonely.

The Great Winter Get Together (12-15 January 2024) is run by The Jo Cox Foundation. As a charity, the Foundation makes meaningful change on issues that the late Jo Cox MP was passionate about. The charity works in three areas: nurturing stronger communities, championing respect in politics and advocating for a fairer world. Underpinning this work is the understanding that we have more in common than that which divides us.

As part of the monthly Tenby Repair Café, there will be a letter writing workshop where you can come along and write a letter which will be delivered to someone in a local nursing home or hospital ward. Spread a little happiness this winter.

Anne Draper, Tenby Town Council Community Engagement Officer, hopes that as many people as possible will be able to pop in, have a tea or coffee and write a letter. Everyone is welcome to attend this event on Saturday, January 13 from 2pm to 4pm at Augustus Place Community Hall.
