CAREW Castle and Tidal Mill are gearing up for another unforgettable October half-term, with a week full of family-friendly Halloween adventures.
From Saturday, October 25 to Sunday, November 2, the Castle will host a packed programme of spooky storytelling, interactive trails, and thrilling tours, with something for witches, wizards, and brave explorers of all ages.
The Pumpkin Patch Adventure invites younger visitors to explore the Castle grounds in search of pumpkin clues. This fun, self-led trail runs daily from 10am–4pm with a small charge per child, plus standard admission.
Back by popular demand, the Creepy Mill offers a haunted house-style experience inside the dark and shadowy Tidal Mill. With eerie decorations and surprises around every corner, it's not for the faint-hearted. Open daily from 11am–5pm (last admission 4.30pm), the Creepy Mill is included free with standard admission and is recommended for ages 4 and up.
On Monday to Wednesday, October 27-29 at 1pm, families can join a brand-new fantasy adventure from best-selling immersive author Oliver McNeil. The Storymaster’s Tales: Castle of Blood invites participants to control the course of their quest in a live, interactive show full of creatures, challenges, and chilling choices. Suitable for ages 6+, Castle admission is not included in the ticket price. Booking is highly recommended at www.storymasterstales.com/live.
Those seeking ghostly thrills can join a family-friendly Halloween Ghost Tour, running from Tuesday to Friday, October 28-31, 4.30pm–5.30pm. This atmospheric guided walk through the Castle includes strange sightings and eerie encounters. To buy tickets, advance booking is essential at www.carewcastle.com.
On Thursday and Friday October 30 and 31 at 11am and 2pm, children aged 4–8 can dive into a magical, hands-on quest in Fantastic Beasts and How to Rescue Them! With storytelling, crafting, and mythical creatures, this one-hour session must be booked in advance. A per-child admission fee is applicable (Castle admission not included).
Nest Tearoom will be open throughout the week, serving seasonal treats and cosy refreshments – the perfect way to warm up between adventures.
Daisy Hughes, Manager of Carew Castle, said: “October half-term at Carew is one of the highlights of our year. The Castle really comes to life with families exploring, laughing, and creating memories – all with just a hint of Hallowe’en magic. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re brave enough for the Creepy Mill or prefer a pumpkin hunt in the sunshine.”
