About 40 members of Tenby Friendship Club enjoyed a talk by John on how he acquired Eddy, his guide dog. John had them laughing one minute and crying with him the next.

Eddy is a lovely dog, and when he comes with John and Helen to the Club, the minute he is off his harness he goes around and visits everyone for a pat - he is every one’s friend. John spent 10 days in a hotel in Bristol going around the streets learning with Eddy.

John said Eddy was already trained; it was he who was being trained. Then Eddy came to live with them, and the training continued, with both of them learning the streets of Tenby. Bristol Trainers come every month, then slowly slow down.

A bucket was passed around the members and just over £100 was raised for the Guide Dogs for Helen and John to give to them.

Jan Hill had made Easter egg muffins for afternoon tea, with an extra box of them for John’s sweet tooth. Sheila, a new member, was welcomed, and Maureen wished a happy 80th birthday,

Speaker for Wednesday’s meeting at 2pm Augustus Place Hall is Jo Anne from Community Transport.
