A “pawsome” dog show and beach walk event organised by Lamphey WI will be held on Pembrokeshire’s Freshwater East Beach on Sunday, October 5 to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance.

‘Paws on the Beach’ will see a variety of novelty dog shows including categories such as Waggiest Tail and Best Fancy Dress for the beach.

Participants will also be encouraged to undertake a full length walk of Freshwater East beach, with a free home-made bandana for the first 100 dogs booked onto the event.

Refreshments will be available from Jacks at the Longhouse and a grand raffle will take place with support from many local businesses and organisations.

There is a £5 minimum donation per dog and each furry friend with receive a certificate for participating.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park has kindly waived parking fees at their Freshwater East car park for this event. Donations can instead be made to Wales Air Ambulance. The event will run from 10am to 2pm.

“Paws on the Beach sounds like a wonderful fun day aimed at all ages. What a lovely way to spend time walking with your dogs, whilst raising funds for the Wales Air Ambulance.

“The Charity needs to raise £11.2 million every year to keep our helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the road. Fundraisers, like Paws on the Beach, will help us to continue to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most.

The Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.

The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles. This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.

As a pan-Wales service, Wales Air Ambulance’s dedicated crews will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.
