Highlight of the festive gathering at the West Wales Maritime Heritage Society Boatyard in Pembroke Dock on Tuesday was a recital of folk and country hits by Sid Colson.

Sid, a member of folk group Dead Men Walk In, entertained with evergreens including the traditional Aunt Rodie, Johnny Cash’s Walk the Line and Over the Hills and Far Away, the folk standard that was used as a theme song to the TV drama Sharpe. He used both mandolin and guitar for accompaniment.

Two comedians also played their part to amuse everyone (as seen in the video clip below), and also read a poem by Dylan Thomas.
“This is my way of getting people together and not being lonely or depressed,” said organiser Peter Kraus.
Hot dogs, mulled wine, mince pies, tea and coffee were available, but the heavy morning rain determined that the get-together was a quiet affair.
