Saundersfoot Footlights’ production of The Addams Family became an award winner recently, picking up two accolades in this year’s NODA Awards.
The 2024 production by the Footlights won District 6 awards for ‘Outstanding Technical’ and ‘Outstanding Musical’.
The NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) Awards are accolades for amateur theatre groups and individuals in the UK, recognising achievements in various aspects of amateur theatre, including performance, technical aspects, and long service.
Director Jordan Dickin is “extremely proud of Saundersfoot Footlights and the whole cast and crew of The Addams Family for their hard work and commitment”.
Since then, the amateur musical theatre society has staged two other performances in the Pembrokeshire seaside village: the Christmas pantomime Sleeping Beauty and, most recently, The Sound of Music, which received a fantastic response and was described by the Footlights as “definitely one of our favourite things.”
“Putting on a show is no mean feat - especially when the price of everything has increased. So we must say a special thank you to all of our sponsors and patrons, and every business that placed an advert in our programme, or has otherwise donated to us,” they said.
Saundersfoot Footlights strives to bring top quality productions to the community and love entertaining locals and holiday makers alike with their shows.
At Footlights, there is always a lot to get involved in behind the scenes as well as on the stage to make these productions come to life. Contributions range from performing, costume and set building, tech support and web design and front-of-house coordination.
New Committee members are always welcome in helping run the society and shows.
