THIS summer, Oriel Q Gallery in Narberth has invited artists to become part of ‘Coast and County’, a Pembrokeshire Open Exhibition celebrating the landscapes, seascapes, communities, heritage and culture of this remarkable county.

Coast and County 2
For centuries, artists, poets, farmers, sailors and wanderers have found themselves drawn to Pembrokeshire, compelled by its shifting light, its weather, its history, and its enduring sense of place. (Oriel Q)

The exhibition opened on July 18 and runs until August 29.

Inspiration comes from the drama of the cliffs, the quiet geometry of fields, the ancient Preseli Hills, harbour villages, local traditions, or the people who shape this place.

Coast and County 3
Coast and County offers a chance to share those stories and celebrate the extraordinary richness of Pembrokeshire through contemporary art. (Oriel Q)

At its best, landscape art is never only about what we see. It is about memory, belonging, history, atmosphere and emotion. The curve of a coastline can become a story. A field can become a map of generations. A stretch of sea can become an expression of freedom, uncertainty or hope.
