Sixty-seven Year 8 pupils and seven teachers embarked on a journey to Paris as part of a trip arranged by the Communications Area of Learning.

The trip took place over three days from March 2 and included several activities that were both fun and educational.

Day one was spent at Disneyland, Paris where pupils enjoyed the thrilling rides, saw characters from well-known Disney movies, and experienced the firework display at the end of the day. The pupils enjoyed their experience and were suitably exhausted when we arrived at the hotel.

Day two was equally exciting as the pupils visited the Observatoire de Paris where they had a 360-degree view of the city. After this, pupils were able to experience a boat trip on the Seine which was relaxing and offered stunning views of Paris’ famous sights.

On the final day, the pupils experienced a guided tour of Mametz Wood and were able to see the First World War graves and a list of the Welsh soldiers who had lost their lives. This provided an opportunity for the pupils to learn about the horrors of war and the importance of remembrance.
