Ysgol Greenhill News

Huge congratulations to six of the school’s students (Jayden Allen, Lewis Rossiter, Alfie Luger, Ollie Tucker, Owen Grieve and Alfie Pryor) who were selected to play for Pembrokeshire Schools Rugby on October 7.

The Pembrokeshire boys were taking on a team made up from across the Ceredigion family of schools, and it was especially nice to be playing at Heywood Lane in front of a big crowd.

Unfortunately, the Pembrokeshire team lost by a narrow 2 points, but it was an excellent game.

Well done to all who took part!

This term has seen rehearsals starting up again for the various music groups at Ysgol Greenhill. A wide range of options is available to students of every standard and for every musical taste.

The school choir, open to all students (some of whom are pictured here), meets on a Monday lunchtime in room 506.

The training band (pictured below) meets on a Tuesday and is led by Mr Barrett. The band had an excellent turnout for their first practice, and the enthusiasm shown by these young musicians promises a bright future for music at Ysgol Greenhill.

There is also the very popular Rock Band which practises on a Friday, and the School Orchestra on Thursdays at 3:30pm.

A warm welcome awaits any students who are interested in coming along - just stop by the music department and have a chat with Mrs James and Mrs Rapi.

Ysgol Greenhill would like to say a big thank you to LBS Builders Merchants,Tenby for their generous donation of several lengths of guttering to be used by the Health & Wellbeing AoLE. The guttering will be used as part of the school’s Adventurous Activity lessons, and you can see it in use here, helping students work on their team building and problem-solving skills.
