Following on from a recent BBC Wales news item featuring Mrs. Kate Campbell, Assistant Head which highlighted the need to support school families across the county, Ysgol Greenhill was delighted to join with eco-friendly washing and cleaning experts SMOL.

The planet-friendly detergent company promote #Washwell initiatives to save money and enable the swap to eco-friendly to be affordable to all. SMOL are also involved in social initiatives to benefit the community, including the Suds in Schools initiative.

Suds in Schools was launched in 2021 with the aim of installing mini launderettes into schools across the UK. These machines give families in need free access to laundry facilities and detergent to ensure that no child in their care has to suffer from the consequences of not having clean clothes/uniforms.

Ysgol Greenhill was delighted to take delivery of a washing machine and tumble drier dedicated to assisting identified families in need. We are living in unprecedented times with the cost-of-living crisis reaching into all aspects of our daily lives. Ysgol Greenhill understands the pressures that families can face and this initiative is one of many, either underway or due to be launched by the school to help.

If you would like more information regarding this initiative or how YGS could help you, please contact Mrs. Kay Davis, Family Engagement Officer [email protected]
