The Colby Woodlands fun run, organised by Tavernspite School, was a fantastic success.
Almost 100 runners of all ages, from three to adult, took part in a variety of different distances through the beautiful Colby Woodlands.
Children from Tavernspite, Templeton, Lamphey and many other local schools turned up to race in near perfect conditions.
The beautiful sunshine really helped to create a warm, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere.
There were medals for all finishers and attractive trophies for the winning male and female in each age category. The course followed the route of the weekly Parkrun which takes place at Colby Woodlands at 9 am every Saturday morning.
Headteacher Kevin Phelps said: “We were delighted that so many people came to our fun run. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves in this beautiful place and getting fit and active at the same time. I am so grateful to the team of Parkrun volunteers who very kindly stayed right through the event, marshalled the course, allowed us to use all their equipment and gave an official status to the whole occasion. They were brilliant.”
