Narberth town council are to extend an invitation to Pembrokeshire County Council’s director of education to attend a future meeting to address concerns over the town’s CP school located on Jesse Road, if it reaches capacity.

Speaking on the matter at the town council’s first meeting of 2022, Clr. Chris Walters asked for some clarity as to what the Education Authority’s future plans are in relation to the new CP school once it reaches capacity, and woould porta-cabins be installed again or not?

He told his fellow councillors that the community of Narberth was growing and the school was getting busier.

Following the discussion, it was resolved that the Director of Education should be invited to a meeting to answer any concerns.

Clr. Walters was asked to put together the questions he required answers to in order that the Director had knowledge of what information is required prior to the meeting, and county councillor Elwyn Morse would arrange for the meeting to be set up.

Members were asked to email Clr. Walters with their questions and to copy in the Mayor and the Clerk, and it was agreed for the matter to be kept as an agenda item.
