“Wow, what an incredible second tournament!” said Vicky Brown of the Redhill Chess Festival. 

Twenty-one schools took part in the chess festival which was held at Redhill Preparatory School, Haverfordwest. The results are as follows: 1st place: Henry Burton (Redhill); 2nd place: Steffan Hughes & Huw Holliday (Redhill); 3rd place: Osian Griffiths (Ysgol Caer Elen) Bryn Williams (Milford Haven Community School) Iolo Hughes (Redhill).

‘David Pinch Award’ for excellent sportsmanship: Carys Callan (Redhill).

“Everyone had a fantastic time,” added Vicky. “Huge thank you to Ian Eustis from the Welsh Chess Union for being our Arbiter, Martin Jones and Scott Hammett for stewarding the event and our wonderful FOR for running the refreshments.”
