At the November meeting, embers stood in silence for a minute in memory of Clr Roy Morgan who had passed away recently. The clerk advised that all the current vacancies on Council would be re-advertised.

MATTERS ARISING

The following matters were raised:

Bus stop at Templebar Road – A Site meeting with Hubert Mathias of PCC to be held (on November 12) with the Clerk to confirm this with Mr Mathias and to notify all councillors.

Remind PCC that the grit bin at East Williamston near the bus shelter and outside hall need refilling with salt.

Colin Phillips has agreed to paint the fence at Pentlepoir play area.

Clr. Anthony Ratcliffe agreed to speak to the resident at Broadmoor to request they cut back their hedge to improve visibility. PCC have agreed to provide a fence in place of the hedge.

PCC said the pothole is on their work schedule but don’t know when it will be done.

PLANNING APPLICATIONS

The following planning application was received:

18/0781/PA: Tre Garth, Kingsmoor Road, Kilgetty - councillors agreed ti support the plans.

FINANCIAL MATTERS

Clr. I Wilkinson advised that the Association’s application for funding from the PCC Enhancing Pembrokeshire Grant had been unsuccessful.

Funding was therefore available for Council or any other local organisation, to apply for funding for an appropriate project.

UPDATE ON PLAY PARKS

Quarterly inspection reports had been received. There were no findings for Pentlepoir and East Williamston and only two low risk items for Broadmoor. Members were pleased that the play equipment was now mostly in good repair. The clerk will ask Adam Lewis to carry out these repairs.

It was resolved that the reports be accepted and the necessary repairs to be carried out.

COUNTY?COUNCILLOR’S REPORT

Clr. Williams relayed information which had been sent to councillors concerning the unacceptable delays which had been experienced in recent months by telephone callers to Pembrokeshire County Council’s contact centre. 

New systems and procedures had been introduced following the widespread issues, and early indications show that the time it takes for calls to be answered by operators has significantly reduced.

Delays of over two minutes which had been experienced by 86.4 per cent of calls in August had been reduced to 0 per cent in October, whilst the number of calls being abandoned by callers over the same period was more than halved.

ITEMS FROM COUNCILLORS

The following matters were raised:

On Templebar Road 33metres west of Bush Lane junction the subsidence has left quite a deep hole.

The subsidence near Bushcroft will be sorted by PCC but no timescale given.
