Sir,
I can’t believe that I am writing about the same issue a year later... the A477 Fingerpost junction!
I travel this road both ways most days and as I approach going east, with my heart in my mouth, traffic is pulling onto the A477 from Pembroke, rarely ever giving way to the approaching traffic on the main A477. They are pulling into the path of oncoming vehicles doing an average of 50/60 mph.
The markings on the Pembroke side of the road are a single dotted line... not even a give-way or a stop line.
Last week, three heavy vehicles pulled straight across into my path, causing me to brake and drop my speed from 55 to 20 mph. Said vehicles doing 10-15 mph, then slowed all the following traffic to a crawl.
Today, a heavy vehicle pulled out directly in front of me, causing me again to brake and drop my speed to 11-15 mph
The junction is dangerous, very busy, especially during peak times, and needs addressing before there is utter carnage there.
The view is impaired pulling from the Pembroke junction due to the height of the grass in the middle of the road. I have said this before, it’s almost an optical illusion due to the road markings, giving the impression that it’s their right of way.
This really needs to be addressed and I’m sure there are hundreds of motorists who have needed to take evasive action at this point.
Please, please this has to have priority, before we lose any more lives on our roads.
