A DRIVER from Whitland admitted to driving while over the limit for alcohol to Haverfordwest Magistrates on September 2.
On August 16, Harry Smyth, of West Street, had driven a VW Fox 55 on the B4332 to A478 junction at Boncath after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, 80 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit of 35mcg, the court heard.
Taking Smyth’s guilty plea into account, magistrates disqualified the 36-year-old from driving for 40 months and fined him £350.
Costs to Crown Prosecution Service of £85 were added to the fine, plus a surcharge of £140 to fund victim services. A monthly payment schedule was set up.
